What we are forgetting is that during that time the British leaders were also against taxation and were on the side of the people. The majority of leaders who were pro monarchy and taxation were way on the other side of the world in the United Kingdom.

It's much easier to start a revolution when your leaders are on your side and your enemies are on the other side of the world.

Unlike today, It's the leaders suppressing the people.
