Idk. My whole thing is I think the bot should be taken down....If you know someone enough from interacting with them online, chances are you'll have a good guess at what they are talking about in DMs to others, and it's even showing notes and users others are talking about in msgs....

Like I didn't miss your note of quitting and going nostr full time, so I have a good guess what you're doing when sending msgs over nostr... building 80% of the time...

Also pretty easy to click each person profiles, glance, oh they both live in poland. Look. Ralf found a local.

I'm just not sure what good its actually doing...

Hopefully other devs arnt wasting their time on things like this....

I can't zap everyone with a LN address on nostr 1 sat yet....

The point of the bot is to make a property of nostr evident. It being taken down changes nothing, as anyone who wishes to get that information can get it.

Go to any client, like snort type in the npub, go wild. The awareness that Nostr is not fully private is of utmost importance to the network. If those fine individuals wanted to go private they could.

Ignorance of protocols quirks is not something taken lightly. If i governed your car to only go up to 100km/hr and you never went above 80 is not a perceived issue until you need to excel to 120 to avoid a collision.

I don't see msgs you have sent to others, at all....

So, nor would any other new person that installs amethyst...

Other places, yeah, i can see it all...

Like I've known folks can see whos msging who...

But you have to be seeking out that data...

95% of the world, isn't seeking g out that data.

So, explain to me why there needs to be a bot actually sorting and noting that data(to where now I can clearly see it, but otherwise normally wouldnt) whilst I still.....can't send a zap to everyone with a LN Address yet, etc etc etc, I could go on forever here...

......i guess what im trying to say is some devs are actually building things for nostr to grow and some other devs.... are wasting talent playing around, IMO.

We don't need a bot showing us whos msgs who.

The only real privacy you have now a days....

are the thoughts you keep in your head.

Let the folks looking for whos msging who info, look for it.

Wonder if hes paying for the bot to sort and collect that data now to cash in later on when he has offers for the data....

The bot posting that doesn't reduce privacy, as it only posts information that is already public. I guess the point is about making it evident for less informed people so they can make better decisions when it comes to private communication: if you want that sort of metadata to stay private then nostr dms are not the right tool.

J.G the only point they are trying to make is that bot bad.ignorance, is bliss. Why would a young 18yr old need to know that dming one on nostr could have career ramifications compared to any other I'm on any other social media?

His stance is disappointing but not unexpected.

Yes it does. One can simply follow the bot on a new nsec and all nostr DM data is collected and organized for use.

Removes the need to log in with npubs, etc for that data?

Where else can I find all nostr DM data that nicely organized?
