We had a relatively mild winter + dry spring and going into summer seems to be much of the same. Not much rain or snow. So it's no surprise.
Irony is for the past 5 years prior some of the more low lying areas near Lake Erie were getting pretty close to being underwater as the lake was the highest I can remember and was pretty wet and we had some pretty bad blizzards/ice storms. It's all tied to El Nino so next few years we are looking at being dry instead of wet, so this will occur more.
