The only important difference is that BRICS decisions are still irrelevant, while the G7 run the whole world.

I think that will probably change. A big problem with BRICS is that they are not really allies. For example, India and China are the main players, and they don't have good relations.

Also, India is part of the G20 and was even the President last year; it's not really leaving the West. But if there is an issue on which all these parties can agree, they can create huge counter pressure.

Their main problem is they don't really trust each other and they're right to do so.

Their plan to dethrone the dollar with a BRICS currency also shaky considering their lack of democracy, free markets and justice systems. Short credibility in managing a world reserve currency.

Other than that economic cooperation is always good for development and world peace ✌️

BRICS has no plan to create its own currency and the director of the BRICS bank has clearly said so. Even if such a currency appears, it will certainly not be anytime soon
