Bureaucracy is probably the most negative thing about Russia. And many bureaucrat dinosaurs are still in the power structure, which directs the stupid “ban everything we don’t like” policy.
Sometimes, I think, ok, the times are hard and strong measures need to be taken during this transition period. Ban everything, win over the enemy, transition to a new political system, then reset the legal system.
But that may just be my wishful thinking.
