Ah that’s something new and still in alpha. I’ll check it out!
You can enable HTTPS but then you’ll be added to the register (as their memo advises). And I don’t want my umbrel on any register…
It didn’t work. Apparently nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg doesn’t accept ws:// — only wss:// which doesn’t help if I want to run my relay locally + Tailscale.
Testing a personal relay.
Introducing Nostrich
I don't know if such a thing is needed, but this is how I imaged Nostr authentication UX would work. It hasn't been really done this way, so I've done it myself.
Nostrich is a nostr authentication service, i.e. passwordless authentication.
Components:
1. Authentication server: generates challenges, listens to relays, sends success messages.
2. The nostrich-challenger package: to integrate in your app.
3. nostrich-signer: the browser-based signer that stores keys locally.
Try it now at https://nostrich.pro

A move in the right direction. Exceptional leadership.
The hardware is there, it’s just about learning to use it at this point.
Well, if you don’t have to do the task at all, why does it matter if it takes longer? I agree though, smooth but slow.
Jack Dorsey is not Satoshi.
Also Jack Dorsey: “I’ll just call it Bitchat because I like to put “bit” in names.”
AI is here to stay and will only get better. Silly to resist it.

If you treat it all as a scripted movie, which it likely is, then just sit back and enjoy.

Today is going to be like this, and I like the idea of just chilling at home.

Works well on broadband, but on mobile only via VPN.
I don’t think mass interest can be triggered. People in Russia like popular shiny western things (say, X or Facebook) with a tiny minority interested in something like Nostr. But I think it’s less about Russia and more about general population.
Tailscale’s coordination server officially blocks Russian IP connections, but it actually works 80% of the time. I’m glad that it does because that’s how I’m online right now.
That said, I’ll need to set up my own coordination server to be fully independent. There’s an open-source project called Headscale that serves this purpose.
You don’t need to celebrate governments and suits adopting bitcoin but you don’t need to be depressed about it either.
Unstoppable means nobody can stop others from adopting it.
Well, weird that I can’t access Nostr on a Russian mobile network. Only through VPN.
Ot is it just nostr:nprofile1qqs9xtvrphl7p8qnua0gk9zusft33lqjkqqr7cwkr6g8wusu0lle8jcpp3mhxue69uhkyunz9e5k7qg4waehxw309ajkgetw9ehx7um5wghxcctwvsrrnrxl being funny?

I don’t get the complainers, it’s the best time to be alive.
Having a dynamic whitelist seems a bit tricky. Perhaps, using a specialized nsec as a server-side uploader-worker would be easier to implement.

I haven’t implemented fiat conversions in nostr:nprofile1qqswf6fwvz8avcsun5q5j844fcs0shp3jhen0rda8pk57d5wpxzemlgpzfmhxue69uhk7enxvd5xz6tw9ec82cspzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgma2nju and I don’t think I will.
Sats all the way!
