We should all grieve our losses. Perhaps the lesson of Memorial Day is that war is ugly and should be resisted at all cost.

If that is how it’s interpreted, sure. It’s just that I’ve rarely felt this living in the states. It’s always framed as a sacrifice or service to the country. When it’s service to the few who benefited from it.
I was just sitting here reflecting this very fact that memorial days is because of the unending wars through time and all are caused by government. People don't go to war, these are called fights, only governments go to war. Get rid of governments.
I like personal Memorial Day, where we remember loved ones who are no longer with us. The government’s ceremonies sell war by promising future honors.
