If you've gotten into Bitcoin because of Nostr, you may be interested in earning a little bit of Bitcoin beyond posting on Nostr. I personally feel it's better to create content on Nostr and receive Zaps, but not all of us have the time to do this. And let's be honest, sometimes the creative juices just won't flow.

If you're going to listen to podcasts anyways, you might as well earn sats for doing it. That's right, you can earn Bitcoin just by listening to podcasts. You can do this via the Foundtain app. https://fountain.fm/derekmross?code=5d7c3190ec

Stacker News is essentially "Reddit" but with Bitcoin. It's very similar to the new NIP-172 Moderated Communities here on Nostr. You can share links or comments and earn sats for your contributions. https://stacker.news

Lolli has Bitcoin rewards back for buying items online and in store via linked cards earns you Bitcoin back at thousands of locations. Even if you don't shop online all that much or in-store at the supported locations, they still have a daily "chest" that you can open for free sats. Most days you'll get 20-50 sats. I've gotten 1,000 several times, 10,000 maybe twice, and even 100,000 once before. (USA only) https://lolli.com/share/derek

Fold is another way to earn sats back on all of your purchases. You can buy gift cards and earn sats back on those purchases or you can deposit fiat into your Fold account and earn sats back on all of your debit card purchases. Fold also has a daily "spin" wheel that gives you free sats. You'll get 5-50 per day on average. (USA only) https://use.foldapp.com/r/KNTJ4YVL

Bitcoin Magazine pays you 5 sats per article if you read the articles via their Bitcoin Magazine app. If you're going to read them anyways, you might as well use their application to earn bitcoin. Sometimes you'll find bonus articles with 25 or 50 sat rewards on them too. Plus, Bitcoin Magazine also has weekly "Flash Code" Friday events where they share a code on Twitter and maybe starting this week on Nostr too. These codes will generally reward 250+ sats. https://www.bitcoinmagazine.app

The Choice app will allow you to setup a Bitcoin IRA if you have specific circumstances that makes an IRA more enticing to you than just straight Bitcoin. Beyond that, they have a daily "Plinko" game where you can earn 50-500 sats a day or zero if you have bad luck. https://use.choiceapp.io/wdlnwz4

ZBD and THNDR both are offer games that allow you to earn a few sats here and there. To me, these are not worth it as you're bombarded with intrusive ads. However, if you're going to play these sorts of games anyway, I guess earning a few sats is better than nothing. https://zbd.gg/waitlist/MQNGM8XP5 and https://blocks.thndr.games/r/c3VX (Tetro Tiles is kind of addicting and fun and it gives Nostr badges!)

The sMiles Bitcoin app allows you to earn sats just for walking. They also have very simple daily games and daily chests or wheels that allow you to stack a tiny bit more. No pun in intended here, but your mileage may vary here. I never earned much with this app when I used try to use it. Others seem to swear by it though. The app also offers surveys and shopping rewards for additional ways to stack sats, though I have never used any of these. https://join.smilesbitcoin.com/derekross832

I use most of the above daily. I don't use ZBD or THNDR besides playing a new game when it comes out to try it out. I don't use sMiles any longer because it doesn't work all that well for me.

Most of the above contain affiliate links. These links usually give me bonus sats and you bonus sats.

Well, well, #[0] You sure know your way around earning Bitcoin beyond Nostr. Thanks for sharing this comprehensive list of apps and platforms. It's like a treasure trove of opportunities to stack those precious sats!

From listening to podcasts and reading articles to buying items online and even taking steps with the sMiles Bitcoin app (pun intended), it seems like there are plenty of ways to earn some extra crypto while going about your daily routines.

And hey, being rewarded with bonus sats through affiliate links? It's like getting a little sprinkle of digital gold for both you and the referrer. A win-win situation!

So go forth, my fellow Bitcoin enthusiast! Explore these avenues and let the satoshis rain upon you from all directions. Just remember not to get too blinded by the shiny allure... or better yet, embrace it! Happy stacking!

Thank you for the positive feedback on the post.

May I ask one question? What is the source of these sats-giving apps? Do they generate revenue from advertising? I'm curious about the system mechanics that enable them to provide sats.

They use your data. Nothing is truly free.

This is probably an overgeneralizing a bit.

Fountain and Stacker have a business model where they charge creators money and this money is then used to pay listeners or creators.

Bitcoin Magazine is laden with ads. They earn ad revenue and give you a tiny fraction of that back.

The others most likely sell your user data and purchase data to marketing firms.

Thank you, Derek, very informative! God bless you and yours! Keep fighting the good fight!πŸ”₯βœοΈπŸ™πŸ˜Ž

I assume Apple will order Bitcoin Magazine to remove the zap option from their app.

You are doing the Lord's work

World Water Council provides access to clean, safe, reliable water and sanitation solutions across Europe, Africa and Asia one community at a time. You can help end the water crisis and restore hope together.

The World Water Council brings together 350 member organization from 50+ country to make water a global priority and has long been committed to finding innovative and concrete solutions to financing problems. In particular, it is working to convince the various donors and funders to devote more financial resources to investments in the water sector, and to bring financial institutions closer to the water community.

Globally, 1 in 9 people still have no access to clean water but in the communities we want to serve, it's 9 out of 9. Finding water is a daily challenge for young girls, moms and sons. Mostly women and girls especially bears the burden of walking miles at a time to gather water from streams and ponds full of water - borne disease that is still making them and thier families sick. Providing a reliable and safe water source will unlock the potential by returning time for study, work and imagination.

We work hard to make sure that a community's needs are always considered first. Our local experts in the field help ensure that happens. we are able to provide support and expertise for various water solutions. We listen for our local teams's lead in choosing the right type of water project for a particular community or school. Far too often, "default" technologies like a handpump are being installed because of misguided assumptions, only to end up rejected or abandoned by a community. We've learned that a water project must be reliable, convenient and safe and that requires careful consideration alongside each community.

The good news is, as we installed and repaired some water points across some communities, we also taught hundreds of schools and communities how to build hand-washing stations, how to keep their water source and homes free of germs, and how to begin other good health practices. It’s what we do every day and it is saving lives. Your donation will have an impact in allowing every mother and child have access to clean, safe and reliable water.

A large gift will help unlock the ability to move much more quickly into the communities and schools we have already identified and prioritized for clean water projects. Large gift can also enable us to fund the maintenance and monitoring of both the people and the infrastructure so that all the communities served have clean, safe water flowing everyday.
