Are we going to war? FWIW I don’t like this, but also this is the weakest threat I’ve ever heard. “If you take” another country “we will confiscate” your military bases. Like…with a stern letter written to the commander? Language matters. If you’re going to threaten to take a military base I recommend you say how (ie with force) and be prepared to back it up because this makes it sound like the US military would voluntarily just pack their shit up and go home when they get your letter.

I’m sure they’ll say please and thank you 🤣

🤦‍♂️

FWIW the path of much less resistance seems to be financial (as usual). The public rhetoric on both sides is probably just kayfabe while they negotiate the final price.

Nato is over if he takes Greenland. US already has bases there and was welcomed by their allies in the arctic. Now US just wants to take things by force without thinking what consequences it will have for itself and others. Some people here seem to cheer for that, I really don't get why.

Does Denmark have any bases in Greenland? If yes, then all they have to do is say, "no, we're not leaving." If not, they lost because they wanted to lose.

we couldn’t run those bases anyway. They aren‘t carbon neutral.
