Pretty easy. There’s literally zero reason to buy a CD, while records have a nostalgia factor.

CD has much better sound quality and durability
CD has album art and inserts
CD’s are digital, so they aren’t scratching the same analog itch as vinyl.
Record player + sound system is powerful and highly effective peacocking within the (dominant?) genre of millennials who wish it was / have somehow been largely mind warped to the early 1970s…
Yes, I much prefer the tactile, analog experience of listening to music via vinyl records.
Sound quality is totally subjective. Many audiophiles prefer the analog sound of vinyl.

CD is basically digital, so why not go literally digital?
