Also remember that we are bad at understanding exponential growth, such as is common in technology.
I believe the limit is not one of growth, but rather one of category. Machine and mind are fundamentally different substances, so I am not convinced any machine will be able to do all the things a mind does.
Yes I have no doubt we will. I just don't think we'll see generalized AI that is as broadly capable as humans, or that is truly creative. AI will certainly get exponentially better at specific tasks.
