👏💪
We need Bitcoin Knots to Win!
Geaux Knots Geaux!!!
Hey dude, I recognize your photo from youtube, been catcing you vids lately, good stuff 🤙
Node count alone doesn’t determine economic weight.
If it did, miners or institutions could game the system by spinning up thousands of vanity nodes to sway consensus. Thankfully Bitcoin doesn’t work that way.
What matters is which nodes actually relay and validate real transaction volume… and whether we like it or not that activity is heavily centralized around major infrastructure providers like Kraken, Coinbase, Strike, LSPs, etc.
Knots isn’t “winning” anything unless a major transaction relay provider switches away from Core. There’s currently no sign of that happening.
Even that would have no impact.
You'd need ~95% of nodes to switch to Knots in order to have a meaningful impact on what transactions get relayed. This is due to how the p2p network mesh is interconnected.
This is why the filter crowd had always been fated to fail.
True… one major relayer switching over (which won’t likely happen) would only be a stronger signal with no net effect until some high threshold was reached like you say.
IMO this is exactly the reason why nobody in the no-filter crowd is concerned about these node counts. It’s telling who has an understanding of the network and who doesn’t.
Thank you Matthew!!
