Funnily enough, Kantůrek requested a translator for their first meeting, since he said his spoken English was terrible. He said it was a funny meeting and they needed the translator only at the beginning. But Pratchett himself holds Czech (and Dutch) translations in high regard.

Together with the Red Dwarf translation, I believe they are masterpieces of how to bring art to a local audience, and the translators played a lion’s share in making both works (relatively) popular.

I adore our oldschool dubbing. The times when czech songs from shows like Hale&Pace not only kept the topic and jokes, but also rhymed and fitted within the rhythm. It's hell of a job. But I had massive problem in London when talking about Harry Potter. I had no clue wtf Quidditch is, it's Discworld allover again.👀😆 #czechstr
