Trying a new thing today. I planted two rows of peach pits in this area. While the row was open I sprinkled in a few diakon radish seeds and I planted 3 rows of snap peas flanking the 2 peach rows. My theory is the diakons and peas will both winter-kill, leaving a nice taproot hole and a side dressing of fixed nitrogen for the peaches to make use of next year. Everything got a nice mulch cap of aged woodchips that were previously inoculated with wine cap mushroom spawn (you can see the mycelium in a picture or two)
