It’s thicker than Sriracha and still has the chili seeds in it. Just put a spoonful of it on anything.
I used to get something like that at my local Asian supermarket, but I want to try this one now!!

Sambal oelek is awesome. But if you ever see sambal bajak you need to try it. It’s got garlic in it as well and is really well rounded. My favorite.
The name alone makes me want some. What’s the origins?
My grandfather was Indonesian and put it on everything. I haven’t been able to find it in the Asian stores recently but I’ve made my own and it’s easy. Here’s the recipe:

Yes - it was a syrupy, tangy condiment made of tropical fruits and fish sauces. European traders ruined everything!
