Yes lots of cod liver oil is rancid. Good sourcing is key.
Look into Weston A Price if you haven’t already- he’s the one that brought cod liver oil and vitamin K2 to the forefront. His book changed so much for me
Same here. Recommended and not that extreme of reccomendations at all. Nourishing Traditions is a good start
