Someone catch me up, please. Is a #BitAxe (eventually) profitable? or is it just a fun LARP / way to help nominally decentralize mining?
Discussion
Like playing the lottery. A few have mined a block which is cool
Good risk to reward I’d say but still a lottery.
What about if used in a pool? Then it would be a matter of the pool finding a block and the little baby Bitaxe getting a tiny reward, right?
Yes absolutely but I’m not the best person to ask still but yes that’s the general idea
It would depend on the pools payment structure but yes it can still work in a pool and yes you should get a payout if a block is found in that pool.
I want to say use it with nostr:npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze but setting up a lightning payments isn't easy atm. If you won't a daily payout right into your nostr:npub1y2qcaseaspuwvjtyk4suswdhgselydc42ttlt0t2kzhnykne7s5swvaffq or preferred lightning address with a hastle free setup, use Braiins pool. It won't be much of a payout but you'll get at least 2 digits sat per day. Point your ASIC miner to [Braiin pool](https://academy.braiins.com/en/braiins-pool/quick-start/) and set up [payouts](https://academy.braiins.com/en/braiins-pool/rewards-and-payouts/) into your lightning wallet.
Thanks! I'm planning on checking out both Ocean and Braiins. I'm less concerned with immediate payouts since they're so low. Probably will lean towards a more decentralization-preserving pool over easy payouts.
It’s a lotto ticket which you can enjoy learning about mining along the way IMO and although completely tiny, does add to decentralizing
