I think it fucking sucks and is one of the two things I worry about for Bitcoin's future

I figured this is probably the popular opinion about it. It has been so far, in my experience anyway. What's the second worry?

That they will soft fork some new opcodes into the protocol that can be taken advantage of. Things like covenants is one example.
