While I like that there is potential here, and I love that the early adopters (us) seem to all be on the same page when it comes to BTC, lots of people are FUDing this platform as it remains to be seen how things develop. What functionality do you envision that sets it apart or that will draw mass-adoption?

Clients can be implemented at wish and have full access to the entire userbase, which makes it way more convinient for new devs.

Instead of growing a userbase from scratch.

Also censorship resistance

I recognize that when a new Nostr client emerges, once a follower signs up, they remain following the same people they chose to follow on the protocol with the new application - that’s very nice, so you don’t need to “rebuild” your following from scratch, it comes with you from client to client.

Not just followers, but the entire userbase is available for the new client.

If you build a new social media platform app like Facebook you need to attract new users first which is a hard and costy task.

With Nostr as a protocol only the client needs to be implemented and everyone can switch and test the new client

Yes, in theory, it would mean that 1 private key unlocks many different clients and services, as long as people abandon their censorship hellholes and migrate to adopt Nostr.
