It's not even obscured anymore. I use the Sam's Club app...because lines. Not too long ago when I was in the store, I walked down the pet supply aisle. Later that day, the app sent a notification that said "👀We saw you looking at pet items, would you like to see more?" 😂

The native apps give them even more data. But you don’t even need to install those, their have trackers in all sorts of other apps.
Right?! Why isn't that clearly disclosed? And the use of 3rd party data? Admitting to collecting and sharing it is only half the equation. I don't ever recall seeing a data use disclosure but I sure wish I would. People deserve transparency.
They probably do disclose in terms and conditions that nobody ever reads.
“Share data with partners” or some similar bs.
I've read admissions of collecting & sharing data but never of acquiring it externally & using it for enhancement of their own product. If "sharing" means mutually, that should be clarified. I dont know. It's just something I think should exist, even if nobody reads it.
