How do I send to others? Sorry, I'm completely new to Bitcoin.
Its ok perfectly normal question. So the ⚡️ icon when you click it, it will (depending on your client) open your wallet or use preset amounts of bitcoin(that you choose) to send to them for their posts.

Sone clients like damus were forced to remove this option so the only way to send value is to navigate to each person's profile and copy their LN address and paste it in your wallet to send.

Yea centralized platforms are always gunna grasp for control any way they can. This is why nostr is so much better anyone trying to do dumb things only hurts themselves and not a hindering to the client itself as we can always route around these issues.
