Privacy was one of #Apple's major selling points for their overpriced, inflexible hardware. Will the UK be all #Android soon? I wonder.

Doubtful. But yeah, this is a big blow to the Apple brand imo. Strongly considering going android only.

I think it is still the better decision than introducing a backdoor and therefore weekening all encryption. Rather they take away encryption from the country that prhibits it, then weakening the encryption itself.

I think this is not that accurate. It is only about iCloud. You can switch to an end to end encryped cloud provider I assume. Noone is obligeted to use iCloud.

And still law enforcement needs a judicel order to get information from apple. So the UK is still respecting separation of powers.
