PSA: I’ve made changes to how gifs are processed when uploaded to nostr.build. They will be resized down to 360x360 (fit within) and optimized (reduced size). This should eliminate previous issues with gifs not loading in some clients. If you have any issues, reply below. 🐶🐾🫡

i rarely use gifs, but others may. im more apt to use png or jpg and for both may be critical not to be reencoded to maintain fidelity
We have been optimizing jog and png since the beginning, and their fidelity is preserved to the best possible level 🐶🐾🫡

It seems that when you download it to an iPhone from Damus the animation disappears. When I download it from browser it works fine 🐶🐾🫡

It seems that when you download gif again from Damus to photo library, it breaks. I am. Or sure if it’s iOS or Damus, but if downloaded to file it should work, I think 🐶🐾🫡
Well on my failed attempt today I uploaded it from my photos, the same exact file i uploaded 6 days ago. Last week and today I uploaded, I uploaded it using Damus. So maybe Damus needs to update something in their image uploader?
If it was identical file you would have gotten the old upload link. Since I suspect you downloaded the uploaded file, then it may gut have been different. We hash the original upload and match it to the hashes in our DB, and give you the old link if we have it 🐶🐾🫡

The hash is different, means that the file is not identical. Try uploading from Safari by going to https://nostr.build
Also, if you go to Photos and see the file and it doesn’t show animation, then it is not animated and will not work. GN 🐶🐾🫡🫂💤
