Replying to Avatar The Fishcake (nostr.build)

PSA: I’ve made changes to how gifs are processed when uploaded to nostr.build. They will be resized down to 360x360 (fit within) and optimized (reduced size). This should eliminate previous issues with gifs not loading in some clients. If you have any issues, reply below. 🐶🐾🫡

i rarely use gifs, but others may. im more apt to use png or jpg and for both may be critical not to be reencoded to maintain fidelity

We have been optimizing jog and png since the beginning, and their fidelity is preserved to the best possible level 🐶🐾🫡

if i upload a png or jpg that is 480x360, and you reencode and compress to save 1kb that breaks stuff

It’s not, static images always maintained high resolution and full color range with transparency where applicable 🐶🐾🫡

It makes gifs actually playable and mobile data bearable 🐶🐾🫡
