push ups in isolation as the only resistance exercise you do leads you down the road to imbalance and mobility issues.

100squats is a much better goal. Load it up with weight if you want (barbell, kettlebell, jug of water, calf, whatever) or do box squats with your dining chair.

On push ups I will just say almost no one in the Army doesn't have rotator cuff problems. Rotator cuff surgery is VERY common among Army members. Push ups are NOT a good exercise in general. Oh I still do push ups. Say ONE push up that takes about 1 minute to do. It will do more for you than 100 of them. And it won't fuck up your shoulder blades.

Oh my shoulder problem is Army related but not pushups. I only did three years. My shoulder issue involved a static line and a jump ut of an Airplane. It is about 5-6 years in when service members start having problems. Saw a lot of guys get the surgery 6-8 years in.
