what exactly is so sexy about it? I took a short look and just found NIP-44 does things better. It solves no real current problems with NIP-04. Just prepares to adopt future changes better.
combined with gift wrapped messages, you no longer leak any metadata with DMs, enables DM groups, and truly private chats. i've been using draft versions of this for months on Amethyst, Snort, and Coracle. we just need more clients to support this implementation.
