BlueSky has the cool idea of Starter Packs. A user publishes a list of followers that they recommend to newcomers.

We could easily do this too. You can post lists on Amethyst and follow individuals from the list. app.coracle.com already does this, though I'm not sure how much it's a coracle thing only, or how many people really use it.
