Any coffee can be used for espresso.

In fact I like lighter roasts for espresso more than traditional espresso roasts (typically dark roasted).

Espresso is made by forcing water through finely ground coffee at high pressure.

Ofcourse you can but not every coffee is good as an espresso. I'd rather get an indication from the roaster.

Roaster typically knows best but itโ€™s also good to experiment to learn your taste.

Well if they would'v said the dark roast, I'd definitely pass.

The dark is not super dark in our case, it really depends on each batch but as a guideline:

Our blond is around Agtron 60 our house 50 and bold/dark 40

Followed!

What kind of machine do you have?

I typically donโ€™t drink espresso at home. But I do have an aeropress with the fellow espresso attachment, which makes a better espresso than the base model delonghi machine I used to have.

Nice. Saving up for a San Remo You myself. My old Italian Giotto premium deserves retirement.
