I never have the patience to wait for my moisturiser to dry before putting my tshirt on
Discussion
I never have the patience to let my skin absorb the lotion before I wash my hands.
I feel you, I have a hand washing problem π« I think itβs OCD or something cos when I get stressed it gets worse. Shea butter on them over night is magic for things like this ππ½ π«π« (just incase your hands look scary like mine did - cracked/bleeding etc.)
When I was a kid it was a lot worse. My hands would bleed but now itβs a lot better. I try to purposely not wash my hands and just embrace germs π
Thank you for sharing with me π« you have no idea how much better youβve made me feel. Iβve felt kinda alone with this (though I know lots of other people have this issue too). It just feels nice knowing someone else I kinda know has had to deal with it and is doing good ππ½ but Iβm also so sorry you ever had to, especially as a kid π«π«π«π«π« itβs a frustrating thing for sure. I like your solution π€£ been thinking about it, but I donβt think Iβm quite there yet π«
Itβs more common than you think. In school they scare you with those videos that use a special light to show you where germs are. There was one kid in my class whose hands were so bad that everyone made fun of him and called him ashy. I feel bad about that now lol but yeah I think itβs from the harsh chemicals in the soap and the hot water. I came across this lady while shopping once that tried to sell me this special lotion. She put the lotion on my skin so she can show me how much nicer itβll look after. She kept rubbing it and these bubbles started coming out. She was like wtf Iβve never seen this before you, do you wash your hands a lot? Lmao I realized that absorbing soap isnβt better for me than having some germs on my skin.
Aw man, why do they do that to the kids ππ«
Aw bless him π₯Ή Iβve been there. One time I washed my hands so much before work they looked white cos they were caked in soap residue. I moisturised like crazy that morning but still no luck. I was running late so I had to just deal but of course the tube was so packed that morning (bloody northern line) and I had to hold onto a pole surrounded by people. A guy was just staring at my hands and I was mortified π I wanted to tell him it was from soap, and that I moisturised I swear, but then everyone would look. I laugh about it now though ππ«
I use tallow soap now β€οΈβπ₯ someone on nostr told me about it once.
ππ€£π matteeee ππ«π«π« not the suds. Honestly, I think you right. Now instead of needlessly washing my hands when stressed Iβll punch something (pillow, not person), draw, walk or write. Lost some weight from the walking, silver lining
I just sit in front of the fan on full blast to dry
I heard those hand dryer fans in restrooms are full of germs too π
Yeah I donβt use those πππ« if I have to, I stand so far away
The question is, what do you do when there are no paper towels and no blow dryer. Do you wipe your hands on your pants or just walk out with wet hands π
Not a bad idea π«
Might I suggests in-shower lotion π€ https://www.bestproducts.com/beauty/g286/in-shower-body-lotions/
Mattteeeee I am intrigued πβ€οΈβπ₯ will have a look into this on the morrow π«
I use the excuse that my moisturizer needs to soak in so I can stay in my bathrobe longer.
This reminds me of Ed Sheerans marinating ritual ππ«π«π«π Iβll try and find the video and send in the chat π«
You're supposed to wait? π
You donβt have to, personal preference I think. I think itβs no good if your moisturiser has wiped off onto your sheets and T-shirt before itβs absorbed π₯Ή also feels a bit grim when my tshirt sticks to me π«
Huh
Ok
I... Guess I. Don't have that issue on the rare occasions that I do grease up... π
Funny story, since we're on the subject of lotion: I never used to put any on. For some reason, I thought using lotion was kind of weird.
In the winter, my shins would get super itchy all the time, and it drove me crazy!
Then one day, I stumbled upon this Bill Burr stand-up bit, and it blew my mind: https://youtu.be/RiH-_ZUILk0?si=8m6moJ97BTGo6BVu
I've been using lotion ever since, and just like that, all the itching disappeared!
Try drinking more water too
