I once stood in line at a night market food fair in the States. One of those "bring Asian culture to the west" type events. We were in a very long line for takoyaki and behind us was a young couple on a date.

Her: what this line for?

Him: hmm.. the sign says takoyaki

Her: oh... what's that?

Him: I dunno. probably some kind of taco?

Her: cool! I love tacos!

And then they had a cute little conversation about their favorite tacos. adobada, carnitas, etc.

We ended up telling them what takoyaki was. It was really cute that both of them were even more excited to try it 😆
