I know homeschooling is popular among a lot of people now, but I’m grateful for the public schools I went to.
The teachers were wonderful, grew thick skin, and created life long friends.
I know it’s not perfect, but it’s not evil.

Would love to have a nest regarding “public schools vs private schools vs homeschooling”
The teachers aren't evil but the system is broken. We can do better.
But I AM glad you had a good experience!
100% the system has been broken for a long time. There’s no denying it.
I was privileged enough to go to a great school that had the funds.
While traditional public education systems aren’t great, a lot of parents don’t have time or the skills to properly homeschool their kids. I think some of the alternative education systems like Montessori, Steiner or Reggio Emelia are good options to look at. Like you say though, there are still some great teachers at public schools and the friendships you make are important too.
It’s a shame public education was deliberately destroyed in the US. A good education should be accessible to all children.
I will never send my children to government school
