Something I think about a lot: the body adapts to every stimulus and environment. Couch sitters are better at sitting on the couch than athletes. Muscle mass and bone density are metabolically expensive to maintain so if you sit on the couch too much, the body will begin to eliminate your hard earned strength and replace it with flabby tissue that is “good” at hanging around idle (and bad at everything else).
