Come on down to Texas Nelly!

Love it!

My wife saw your original post about it and was so annoyed with certain people trying to push it towards monero πŸ˜‚

Oh yes, and the only reason i didnt just say no is that he (John) is the one who admins the group. But i know nothing about Monero, so he can talk about it if he wants.

Yea I hear ya, the idea of someone attending a Bitcoin meetup to direct people away from Bitcoin is slightly comical tho.

I had some monero on exodus for a while and at one point it took multiple days for it to reconcile my wallet. After that I was out and fully consolidated to btc lol

Yep, i think most of us started out buying different cryptos, until we learn more.

Just a heads up for the off-chance you ever use Monero again and others reading this; Cake Wallet has an auto-sync feature, so if you don't use Monero often you can avoid this situation. You're always caught up or never far behind (a few seconds of syncing).

I did my first meetup in 2024. It was great, and yes, it took away the ache.πŸ‘

Awesome! The more we put our efforts into the local level, the better.

Yessss!

Details, details, details. I've been waiting for the local group to start meeting again. No luck so far.

We're meeting in Bastrop on Feb 11 @ 2pm. Neighbor's Kitchen &Yard. If you're familiar with John Bush, i put out a call on one of his Telegram groups last wk, to see if there was interest, and so far i think we have about 15-20 people at least. John heads up the Freedom Cell Network, and this group is part of that. Only thing is John mentioned on the TG chat that he would prefer Monero for transacting among the locals, but I'm not interested in monero. Gonna be totally informal, and i'm gonna take some btc stickers that bitcoin.rocks sent me, and maybe a list of resources/wallets that i have used, to help any new bitcoiners get started. Come on out!

I know that Austin has pretty regular meetups, but theirs seem to be pretty techy/dev oriented. Plus I would rather not drive to Austin (traffic is bad).

I'm in Houston so Austin is a long trip for me. But you've inspired me to try starting a group in my area.

Yeah, i was a little surprised that i got that much response, so i hope it goes well. Definitely keep trying in your area.😊
