I want to own my own business but it’s so hard these days. Spending most of my time working for the man and it’s taking away from me building something.

I'd actually argue the opposite.
Starting a business has never been easier. You can start with $10 and a bit of elbow grease.
But it's easier for everybody. If you don't have an original idea, you're bound to run into competition.
That’s the whole point of enslaving people with jobs.
