If you like The Penguin:
A. You’re a sad, battered TV watcher that just wants something to be good.
B. You just want to tell people what a good actor Colin Farrell is.
C. You’re kind of gay. Just a little bit.

If you don’t like The Penguin
A. You’re an angry old fart that can’t see the good in anything.
B. You are gay for the Joker series.
C . You are a soy boy that cries during violence.
How bout that Colin Farrell? A fat suit too.
What do you think about his acting?
Well he’s a little bitch for only doing 1 season. And if doesn’t do another season it’s all gonna be down hill from here. Btw I had no idea he was a little Irish boi until the other day
Really? Wow. Tell me more. What else do you think about the show.
It’s the best show since breaking bad and this Colin fucker is a chump for calling it quits. If he runs away after season 1 like a little bitch I won’t watch anything with him in it ever
He’s smart. He knows it’s junk. Which it is.
Cash grab.
The Penguin is the shitcoin of TV.
IYKYK
So far, it’s better than the leftovers 😂

Disguise bad? Since when is that the sole criteria for determining if a show is good or not
Nah. Just the show itself. It ain’t good. I tried.
I think it’s really good so far (3 episodes in). Solid performances. Good background story. Penguin seems to have enough depth tor a few seasons.
There won’t be a season 2. This is a cash grab.
Already cancelled? Seems unlikely
Colin was quoted saying he will not do another season. Something like 5 hours in the makeup chair.
Interesting. Him not coming back for another season doesn’t make season 1 any less good. It’s shitty on his part though. Then again 5 hours in the makeup chair, maybe someone else can take over?
It’s way over-acted. I hate shit that knows it’s supposed to be edgy. It’s too aware of itself.
I’m not a fan.
I tried.
It’s a show about the penguin…you want it to be suitable for children? 😂 Of course it’s going to be edgy
Nope. Not my point. It knows it’s supposed to be edgy.
It’s gayer than Elton John.
What does that even mean? The show is aware of its own conciousness? 😂

Close. Yes.
Hard to explain but when you see it you see it.
What episode got you to this conclusion (no spoilers)
First two were ok.
Then pure 💩💩💩💩💩💩
Did you stop at three or did you watch further?
Can’t remember which one made me throw the tv through the window.
Interesting. Usually it takes a few episodes to get into a show. I do agree the story with the driver should have been cut. I’m in the middle of it and it doesn’t serve the main story. Maybe when you threw it out
gr8 ? node but i ? the ? & ans. wish this ^ was mynode, awsome mfr!!! 869463high0nhash
I understand less than half of your replies 😂🤷🏾♂️
It’s a bot. Muted long ago.
That explains a lot. And kinda resembles notes I’ve seen in the past.
There is a self reflective quality that it busy itself with instead of projecting the story. Very postmodern.
Do you see that all through it ? Is there a specific episode that showcases this?
I was just piggybacking on what a movie or a show that is self conscious is like. I haven’t seen the penguin so I don’t if this is true of this particular show, But I hate when shows do it makes it a farce, it becomes parody of itself, campy, thus gay.
If I remember correctly, it was supposed to be a one off season. They were planning on a having another show revolving around the Gotham PD, set within the same universe, and another about the history of Arkham.
The next movie is coming out in 2026, so we'll see what happens then, and we might get other shows set within the universe.
They’re doing the same as Disney/Marvel with the 1 season shows in between the movies
That's what it seems like. I think these shows have potential. If they manage to make a Gotham PD show, I wouldn't mind something akin to Gotham Central.

Limited series makes total sense for a big actor. You get recognition based on the batman movie but you dont get typecasted as a tv show actor
That’s his excuse. A shit show thats pretty terrible is the real reason.
I've seen 2 episodes and find them unnecessarily long and the twists so predictable.. not sure if i should watch the rest of the serie..
I think with all the mediocre series on netflix and amazon, when there's a series that stands out from the crowd, people immediately find it incredible, when in fact it's just decent.
Smart man. 👆👆👆👆
This is the truth.
I agree. SatsMcd huffs glue.
🐧Penguin is great.
Show's not bad, but could have been cut from 8 episodes down to 4.
They nailed a lot of the Penguin's personality traits from the source material.
The mob families are a bit too weak for my liking. They're kinda soft and bitches.
In The Batman movie, I could feel Gotham's personality. In this show, you can't tell it's Gotham, the city doesn't have much of a personality.
Overall, without having seen the last episode that is coming out this weekend, I'd give it a 7/10.
7/10 is pretty good for a spinoff of a
movie. Definitely agree about Gotham. I’m not as far in as you are though
Thoughtful & smart response. Goalies are smart.
Albeit wrong on the scoring.
It’s at best a 3/10. And mostly a 3 just because “I can’t believe it’s Collin Farrell”
Goalies are definitely smarter 🧠
Thoughts on The Batman movie?
Yes, I do. Batman is a fag.
Dad was a pedo.
He’s a womanizing shitcoiner who can’t figure out how to cover his mouth.
The same mouth Superman could tear off with his pinky.
😳😂🤣🫡
Useless ridiculousity abounds in this thread🤔…but in a good way🐸
I salute both of u for ur well composed thoughtfulness…and this amazing effort in keeping nostr entertaining🫡

Wanna know how I know Batman is a better character than Superman? They ain't making Superman villain shows that people can argue about 😆
Because Superman would literally eye laser all these fake bad guys in the first minute. Including lululemon Batman.
Show over. Good guy wins & goes home to his beautiful wife & god fearing family.
Thanks for making my point on who is the superior superhero. Goalie power. 🧠
Superman is based off of a black man from the mid early 1900s and Batman is based off of el Zorro. Google it.
There's a distinct difference between crime in Gotham and Metropolis, as explored in the post-crisis Superman comics.
In Gotham, crime more complex and deeply organized, requiring a detective’s approach—like Batman’s—rather than Superman’s straightforward, punch-first approach. Batman’s method is necessary in Gotham because criminals operate within layered hierarchies, often working for other criminals (criminalception?). The "bad guys" aren’t always straightforward villains, making it essential for a detective to navigate these complexities instead of charging in at anyone perceived as a threat.
Gotham is corrupted to its core, with politicians, police, and the mob all entwined. Superman isn't equipped to function in such an environment, but Batman is.
Superman is more like a firefighter. When a crisis occurs, he shows up, handles it, saves lives, and then moves on to the next emergency. This works well in Metropolis but only scratches the surface in Gotham’s criminal landscape.
Dude it's excellent!
But
A. You make a good point.
When nothing good has been on TV for a while it's a breath of fresh air to see something worth watching.
Also Colin Ferrell deserves recognition! He's Oscar worthy 💯💯💯
Opposite of my point but thanks for playing. 🙄
See Karen on the way out, she has a boobie prize for you.
