Elon Musk has once again criticized Trump’s budget bill, even stating that if it passes, he will create a new political party — the America Party. Musk invested nearly $300 million in Trump’s campaign, a major contribution to his election. Would he be willing to continue investing such massive sums, but this time in a party of his own?

$300 million is pocket change on a good day for Musk. I imagine he gains and losses this much in his sleep each night depending upon market fluctuations. It’s all relative.

Neither of the major parties has been successful so far in addressing this issue.

Budget balancing is nothing but theatre at this point. Only republicans care about balancing a budget that cannot and will not ever be balanced while democrats spend every dime they can to further their operatives

Can you provide a couple examples of how republicans actually care about balancing the budget? As far as I can tell they aren’t any better at all and this budget bill they’re trying to pass is the most recent evidence.

Massie, Rand Paul, and Elon all have been ranting against the big beautiful bill in the name of the budget. I’m not saying they’re good at balancing the budget (that’s the whole point of it being too far gone) but they have a handful of actors who posture like the budget matters and democrats have zero

The last democrat led spending bill was BBB which increased the debt by $150B. The newest republican bill increases the debt by 3.3 trillion. 150B is a rounding error in comparison. 2 ā€œlibertarianā€ congressman and a centibillionaire does not equal the Republican Party or platform. It is a fact that republican White House’s and congress increase the debt more than democrats and it’s almost always in the form of taking from the bottom to give to the top. Viewing the facts objectively from a non partisan angle helps to see the truth.

Every bill has to be bigger. Thats the effect of the ponzi.

You’re still missing the fact that I’m not arguing republicans are better than democrats at keeping spending down. I’m saying the only politicians who go on and on about the debt are republicans

Oh ok I understand what you mean.

Musk is just mad because he wants more government money for his companies in this bill.

I would stay far away from his America Party

How about no party, Just buy Bitcoin, the rest will take care of itself

Political fragmentation is part of the "take care of itself" but someone has to take the initiative.

This is gonna be fun.

He mad cause the got rid of EV credits šŸ˜‚

No. Tesla benefits from protectionism (no competition from China) and no subsidies (other US automakers can no longer make EVs profitable).

Maybe it's about solar, some things at NASA, etc.
