I was thinking about buying one of those mini PCs and stick Umbrel on it, but man, the prices are absurd right now (and we've got a "modest" 21% sales tax on computers on top of it)... I just can't bring myself to pulling the trigger.

I tried to do that, but Umbrel is an app sits on top of Ubuntu and requires specific partition configuration. Start9 is an OS which configures itself, but is harder to do.

Have you seen my header:

Runs 3 imperfect nodes.

There is a reason 😂

I’ve got a Lenovo NUC running Start9, gonna buy an Umbrel home. And discard by 2 RPIs running Umbrel, so should have 2 perfect nodes.

Watch this space 😂

I got old ass intel nuc with ssd and 8GB ram

Runs bitcoin lightning mempool RTL and nostr relay like a champ

Only I utilize it though

RAM is the most significant thing. I would say 8GB is a minimum, 16GB gives you options and consider 32GB if you want some degree of future proofing.

Especially if you want to run a decent lightning node.

Yes, all the options I'm actually looking into are at least 32GB.

Of course

My needs are different for my node.

My server horse is an entirely different beast

Me: Don’t make this about you.

Also me: releasing the beast = flailing around speaking in unknown languages as white waters gush forth

I’m not here for others pleasure

I’m here for my entertainment

Most people are.

I’m here for world peace.

Once again: I’ll go alone.

I’m everywhere for world peace

That took an entirely different direction than expected.

I’m still here to advise on RAM if philosophy gets a bit dull 😂

Bull Dunce Cap 🧢 reference

You’re punny as hell and I’m here for it 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks friend ✌️🫶😍🦹🤣👏🤬💩🤞💐🍾

Then we share that goal. Maybe we meet one day. If not, no worries 😉

No maybes

Yes or no

We do. Otherwise we will have failed our mission.
