With retirement age being 67 by 2029 this means that the average German man gets to enjoy his retirement for approximately 10 years. So why do we pay into pension and social security for ~50 years?

free healthcare: recent birth of grandson, said complications @ hospital ended up with 1/4 mil bill approx to be paid by taxpayer, baby is fine & was just monitored for a few days
