the problem with satire in times of propaganda crises is it becomes more literal than ironic, and attempts to swing thermidor as a recovery for satirical over-stimulation. this is why le petit parisien and dozens of other french papers were discontinued. nothing out of step with this generally - except it is not satirical: it is correct. thus a periodical known for its comedy becomes a beacon for accuracy. like during the last trump admin - everyone watched comedy shows for news. and then when serious crises emerged like the pandemic no one had the skills to report on crisis events, and we had doctors literally fucking dancing while a generation of elderly were slaughtered in isolation. so. careful how you read your news and know what the paper stands to accomplish. most do not bother to discover the slant of their news sources. or they think it's like "2016" so they can read comedy again.... just an awareness.
