We ditched xbox and tablet two three days ago.

By "we" I mean I. I'm fed up with this artificial poison my kids love to pour into their heads instead of anything else.

This is not a negative note.

But it certainly doesn't bring positive nor relaxed vibe either.

they'll find other stuff to do and probably thank you when they get older.

one of my brother's kids wasn't allowed TV, video games, Internet; they slacked off on the second kid and let the kid have access to it all.

guess which one is well adjusted and which is a disaster?

Hm, I guess it's for the better. Husband argues they need to stay in touch with modern technologies, but I lately go a lot just with my intuition. And that wants to vomit every time I lay my eyes on our 82" tv.

get them raspberry pi do it yourself kits for Xmas. make them make tech from scratch. eg. a network at home that's limited to home networking devices. i they can 100% learn from that.

they will think it is fun. you will know it is educational.

my brother and I had computers from a very young age, before the internet. we used to write code even: little games and stuff.

Interesting idea. What age do you think is enough? They're 5 and 6, still srunching through basic numbers and letters, not words.

start now if either you or your husband can help them a little.

i think it'll accelerate learning because they will need numbers and words to do it so they'll want to learn that stuff.

we were on computers in elementary school. eg. original macs and old old ibm PCs. we also used commodore SuperPets back in the day.

they are sponges, give them gravy to soak up. IMO.

that said i'm a middle aged married gay guy with no kids. what tf do i kniw? 👍🤣

I think its quite positive. 🫡

All I have is drugs now

It's hard at first then they adjust but you gotta do what you feel is right! Good luck 😭
