All good. I’ll get Jordi to reach out at some stage. This is part of process

OK, but here’s something I don’t understand. You said, “The NIP05 should only be created if one does not exist.” Even in that case, why would the app be designed to make that change to a user’s profile without their consent? Signing into an app does not automatically mean the user intended to change their profile to advertise for your brand. You have to be transparent about this and ask them if they agree to this first.
It’s a free NIP05 which people can change later if they want to. It’s a gift.
Reading your comment back:
“Make that change”
It’s not a change, because we treat the NIP05 as a username, and the user sets that themselves.
None of the hundreds of people we’ve interviewed want to deal with multiple fields, ie; display name, username, and nip05. They want just two. So we ignore username and treat NIP05 as a username
Therefore:
- New people who sign up to Satlantis get a free nip 05 to use as a username.
- Nostr users who don’t have one also get a free NIP05 which they can change if they want to
That makes no sense to me, unless the user created their Nostr profile with Satlantis. Someone might have a profile created elsewhere and chooses not to display a NIP-05. They shouldn’t be forced to have one added automatically. This still needs to be an opt-in feature.
