My dad passed five years ago. There are many things about him I admire and many which I really don't.

In any case I know what he was up against in his own and he did his best given the circumstances, however flawed that may have been. The forgiveness process is continuous, but the love has always been there.

I don't know anything about your life or your dad. It sounds like the dynamic with him was very different than mine. I just wanted to say I respect you for sharing your process.
