As CBDCs take hold more around the world, controlling the private keys to your bitcoin will become more important because bitcoin exists outside of anyone’s ability to centrally control it. The freedom to transact touches nearly every part of our lives. Central banks and other central authorities can already set regulations on how fiat money can be used, but CBDCs give them the technology to actually enforce them and change them instantly as needed.
