Hey folks, I’m looking for advice on incorporating crypto education into my kids’ homeschooling. My husband and I have crypto but are not experts by any means. My kiddos are teenagers and are eager to learn, so I figured this could be a great opportunity to teach them about decentralization, blockchain, and general financial literacy.

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s done something similar! What resources, tools worked well for you? I’m more than happy to educate myself in order to educate them, just looking for a good starting point!

Thanks in advanced, I really appreciate your time! #crypto #education #homeschool

Ask ChatGPT to create you a crypto curriculum based off your children’s ages. You can then ask it to expand on specific topics and ask to creat quizzes and questions to ensure learning retention.

I use ChatGPT for many other aspects of their homeschooling. Of course! Thanks.

I also like the idea of having my kids save in bitcoin through cashapp. Any time they earn money we send to their cashapp acct and they are advised to save 10% in bitcoin.

Yes this.. teach em value of sats from the get go. When they finish chore send 20 sats. Set it up so they can start trading amongst oneself.

Eww I like this a lot

I like starting all the way back in history. Humans transacted with social capital. It only works in situations with small numbers of people most of which are related in some way. This system worked for thousands of years. Eventually bartering was necessary and then the coincidence of wants became a problem. Abstract forms of money continued to evolve. This subject matter can get pretty deep but ripe for the picking. If you havent already listen to the Saylor series on the what is money podcast. Also, you might try diving into MMT as bizarre as it is. Look into the tally stick system. Examine the functions and properties of money. Hope this helps.

Brilliant, thank you!

Learn the difference between crypto and bitcoin. If you can figure that out you’ll be set

Agree!

Jack Spirko has the Bitcoin Breakout podcast here:

I definitely recommend focusing on Bitcoin education before even looking at other crypto.

Tuttle Twins have an episode on Bitcoin.

Perfect, thanks!

You can get that cool bitcoin game. Who does that game?

As others here have suggested, set them up with their own apps to get paid/pay in btc. They will see how it works. Also, just learning about btc by reading/listening to podcasts, etc.

They got ledgers for Christmas so they’re currently learning the ins and outs of that. This is great, thank you.

I would have them read The Bitcoin Standard and then you all discuss it together. Very well written and covers everything. We have homeschooled all 5 of our children. (Two still in progress)

Great! Thank you so much, exactly the type of thing I’m hoping to incorporate.
