Today is the first day of a new year but it's not the first day of continued growth. Learn daily, Build daily, become more Resilient daily. Every new day is an opportunity for growth. What will you do with your next 365 days?

I like tbe function stack of putting them under the pine trees. Endless supply of needles for bedding

Im still in experimental phases. Aiming for a set it and forget it method. I had about 20% success poking them into wicking beds in the fall. (Very easy).

Trying this set in distilled water. Hoping to reduce the amount of water changes vs using my well water. I may take half and poke them into an ebb and flow bin.

In the spring I'll do another round poking directly into garden soil.

The great thing is every success is about a $10 profit / savings as i build out mine and clients food systems.

New garden space rendering for a client. They sent me this awesome CAD drawing of what there vision is. These guys are great in trying to maximize the potential grow space with their rather slopey property. This will be an exceptional south facing grow area with the added solar/heat gain from their shop wall.

Stayed tuned for build updates. Target install is February.

Harvested a metric shit ton of rosemary. Was able to get about 50 more cuttings for propagation as well before the hardwood sets in. The smell in the garage is amazing 🤩

It's such a unique flavor and color. I secretly hope nobody likes it so I can hoard it all lol!!

Marshmallow Sweet Potato Bites

#foodstr #christmassweets

I know!!! We have 40lbs of them. Lol

No churn as well.

Im excited to try this. Should turn out like a creamy shaved ice sort of.

Who wants to see some yummy Purple sweet potato ice cream? We just started the process. Let's GOOOOOOO!!

First time for smoked rabbit.. Very YUMMMMY.

It was a little sketchy, but we got er done. We'll see how long it takes the kids to mess it up Ha!!

I think we've narrowed it down to contamination in the fuel tank. Going to finish the trans fluids tonight then mess with the fuel tomorrow.

Took a backpacking trip with my brother and grandpa to Spainhour Falls, AR. We had some good times exploring.

It has a very bright tobacco flavor that slightly overpowers the sauce. Leaves are nice and soft and im enjoying the larger cut 2" strips. Got a little buzz from it tbh.

Too Many Roosters = Food for the Family.

3lb 10oz of Breasts and Quarters Harvested

Although I dislike the process of culling chickens, having too many roosters, presents an opportunity to eat the livestock we've raised on high-quality food we've grown. This allows us to consume those nutrients and feel like the cycle is complete.

That's it..

To dry, I copied the ways of the old days, hung in the shop rafters until the leaves were brittle. The rehydration process occurs when you wash the leaves. That's when they get playable again.

Yes, these are for a client. They had gotten a design from the OK Permaculture Research Institute. My business was then chosen to be the prefered installer of the design from the institute. The raised beds are phase 1. We'll be building a food hedge "fedge" next year for phase 2.

I'd be down for a corny chat.

[How to Make Chewing Tobacco]

One month ago I harvested and hung the tobacco to dry. Today I processed it into some #Chewingtobacco

I can't wait to give this stuff a try. The junk from the store just doesn't compare to the taste quality and it's outrageous in price.

-Prep the Harvest-

1. Wash leaves with water dunk

2. Pat dry and destem

3. Cut to desired size

4. >> Follow **RECIPE IN A PIC**

Thabk you Maria.

It beats 100s but it's still nice to get out of the humidity.

We've been without AC in the house for a week now. After a long troubleshooting endeavor, I found that the blower motor in the air handler was the issue. These new style motors don't use a typical capacitor to assist on startup. Instead they use an ECM module that controls the current.

Needless to say, we had to replace the whole motor. I was fortunate enough to still be in the warranty period by 3 months! Also our social capital came through. A neighbor is an HVAC contractor and was able to call in The warranty replacement for us. Apparently the home owner can't do this.

Overall, the replacement went pretty smooth and I learned some things with the new motor type. My family is finally cooled off again after some pretty hot and humid days here in Oklahoma.

Anything to get more People growing their own food.

Im thankful for ANY squash! Dang squash bugs are assassins

Sound like a plan. I'll need to figure out how to contain the pollen to only the plants I want seed from. I don't want all the flowers getting pollenated and end up with no product. Any tips, feel free to send my way

I make a compost tea when I get around to it. Otherwise during growth season, I fill a 40gal commercial trash can with water and add weeds and comfrey to it to ferment for a week. Add some LABs and other liquid microbes to help speed decomposition. Water roots and keep the can filled with water/weeds. Easy as it gets.

During fall, I add the chicken compost as top dress or mix in while planting out in spring.

When I touch them they have these orange antennas that come out their head and try to poke me with them

Yessir!! Not the best tasting berry but packed full of goodness and the chickens love them.

Listening to this book has me realizing how #fucked the average Joe is. I’m glad I learned about #btc to escape this rat maze.
