This is an absolute nightmare.

Knowing how many edits I have made out there as individual posts.

I swear the Nostr protocol is a complete clusterfuck of lazy design.

Edit history is essential IMHO. That way the current version is available, but people can still see what changes were made. Notes being permanent is a feature, not a bug.

Fuck that feature.

If the author made mistakes. Show how many revisions were made, but respect the author's wishes for the current version being the one still made publicly available. If I write a book, or an article, but I make a mistake, or a retraction. It should be up to me what is seen, or not as the original author. I am just sick of fucking up and everyone seeing my fuck ups, because I have a hard time sometimes with typos, or desiring to rephrase it.

If someone wants to know what I originally wrote. Make a way back machine for people interested enough to dig through history of revisions, or something if they want to go sleuthing around to see my typos.

Deleting notes & revisions on Nostr is a fiction anyways. It's a deletion request, no relay has to honour it, is entirely at their discretion. Anyone can run their own relay in a way that keeps deleted notes forever. Own your mistakes & double check before you post is the best advice for Nostr.
