The “I need to pay my bills” mindset when it comes to V4V is so off putting to me.
Feedback doesn’t pay bills.
That’s just a barter system.
Musicians are professionals, so are writers and yoga teachers (like myself). While feedback is a part of the job, I want to pay bills.
With this inflation, more people will be looking for ways to make money, period. Main money. Side money. Money.
Nothing wrong with contributing in other ways. But I’m pretty sure kick ass artists who put in work like nostr:npub13qrrw2h4z52m7jh0spefrwtysl4psfkfv6j4j672se5hkhvtyw7qu0almy and nostr:npub1fnn2h0tgm2mwnl0kar5ez25wztum2w0q0rrrf326n0ljn999znwsqf4xnx and nostr:npub19r9qrxmckj2vyk5a5ttyt966s5qu06vmzyczuh97wj8wtyluktxqymeukr would like to put food on the table, pay bills, have healthcare, and take time off like those who find “stability” in working for others.
Discussion
Few are paying a bill with #v4v right now.
The stage we are in is “holy shit, this is better than Spotify!”
What’s wrong with having money? Putting it to good use? There are services now like Bitwell and Bitrefill for those who need to convert to bill-paying currency.
Also, we are American. Think of what #v4v can do for someone in a country with hyperinflation like Argentina, Venezuela… nostr:npub1fnn2h0tgm2mwnl0kar5ez25wztum2w0q0rrrf326n0ljn999znwsqf4xnx and I talked about how v4V literally pays his bills in Tanzania.
Also i am here to build a community that exchanges with each other. I don’t want a 1k sat zap for a meme. I want to do a 40k bag of coffee or 75k bag of jerky.
These examples are v4v as well its just disguised as commerce
It’s barter. I just wanna pay for stuff. Barter is ok, but doesn’t excite me. But I also offer services, not goods.
