I’ve been avoiding SEED OILS for the last 3 months and am down 10 lbs. most of my meals are well balanced with a protein focus. Any carbs I’m having are accompanied by high fiber foods to slow the glycemic spike. It’s working without a super restrictive nothing but meat diet. Everyone is different but I really think seed oils and highly processed foods that are the main cause of obesity NOT carbs. Would love some input from the health community here nostr:note1gk40l0qe0wx2zc2knuu8zgz5hlfh68z4v0mspf329fzu55vhz6kq486xjt

I would say there are 2 additional problems with grains. They are naturally inflammatory, but then are much worse in that because they are the worst at carrying pesticides into our guts. Soybeans are some of the absolute worst, but most grains are really bad too. So the grain itself might not be awful, but it’s made so by the cocktail of awful stuff sprayed on them.
I would say just test it by going entirely grain free for maybe 3-4 weeks and then reintroduce it and see what happens. When I did, I found out all of my “allergy” symptoms were directly related to my grain consumption. Now I can pinpoint exactly what happens, the podcast made it even more perfectly clear. If I have breads or grains for more than a “one off” but do it for multiple meals or multiple days in a row, I lose at least one full day (often two) of recording because I sound disgusting, am crazy congested, and voice sounds like my nose is plugged.
These are great points a lot of American wheat is highly sprayed. I know many people who start with just meat and salt and slowly reintroduce foods say this is a great way to pinpoint issues. I’ll take this into consideration. If I ever have bread it’s home made with organic wheat and no seed oils or I get organic bread without seedoils from our local bakery. It’s definitely not an every day thing either x
Im doing the same with seed oils and sugar just looking to cut them out entirely. Also on a high protein diet. Mostly red meat. I also do the 16 hour fast 8 hour window for food.
My diet is getting better. I eat some veggie carbs. I feel great and have good energy for biking.
Probably need to dial back on beer.
We all need to stop eating highly processed foods…
Seed oils are at the top of the list & they are in almost everything consumed…
People would die on diabetic wards because their families would smuggle in fruit. Of course it is better to eat berries than candy, but it is just less bad, and you can absolutely get diabetes and fatty liver by eating too much fruit. I actually treated a diabetic patient who complained his HbA1C wouldn't go down despite eating 2lbs of apples a day (he eliminated candy, after all).
People on carnivore get better because: a) their insulin levels drop to low enough levels to enable fat loss, b) they get rid of all the harmful plant antinutrients they may be sensitive to, and yes, of course, c) getting rid of seed oils. They are satiated, and have good nutrition for once in their life since meat is the most nutritious food we have.
It is so exhausting talking about nutrition, everybody has an opinion about everything, and there is little strong scientific data backing for anything. Well, except of course that saturated fats don't cause heart disease lol. Whatever works for you - I'm glad and keep it up. Unless it's vegan, then you're bound to have terrible consequences.
That’s really interesting. Something though that can be said is that these patients likely have gone their entire lives eating candy which created insulin resistance. At this point any form of sugar is dangerous because your body can’t properly react to it. People in jungles that eat fruit and meat are as skinny as can be and have very low rates of diabetes. I believe talking about these nutrition issues are first step to us all understanding the problem so I appreciate your input here
Carbs are vital for health, especially hormones and metabolism. Here is a very simplistic but helpful diagram. For your body to make the necessary hormones, cholesterol needs to be converted with the help of the thyroid. Low carb diets will slow down thyroid and hinder your body’s ability to produce these hormones.
Also, the primary source of energy for the brain is glucose.
That does not mean go buy bread from the grocery store. That is poison. Prioritize honey, fruit, and milk.
