My certified alpinist brother has taught me that there is much to learn in “discomfort.”

So I set out to purchase the right gear for the cold hell and suffering he puts me through. That’s what I learned.

Then he told me I’m an idiot that what he meant was supposed to be deeper than that.

Oh.

Well i am interested about what you think is the right gear, no matter what your brother says. Can you give some links?

Sure. I’ll try to find them online. I purchased them from a store in town. I generally only buy Swiss made gear but Mammut and Kjus are a good start.

First time i hear about kjus. It's already interesting since i think i should have known this company.

I never had a mammut piece, i know they have good stuff but i think they are overestimated if you compare the prices. I mean i usually can't find any reason in quality that justifies the difference in prices. What's your opinion on that, i am really interested

I agree. There are better options for value out there. I suppose it’s just my loyalty to buying Swiss made products.

I find Arc’teryx to be quite good as well. Snow Peak, a Japanese brand is one of my go-tos for outdoor items.

Arcteryx yeah. Good for sure, but way too expensive. Snow peak is an interesting company. So i get an image of what you mean, thanks.

Agreed. I think they become worth it for the amount of use and if they’re made to last. WhichC so far, imo.

That's exactly my opinion for fjallraven...

I like their products, too. I mostly have their kånken which has served me well for many many years.
