There are really grown adults in this modern world who do not have a resume.

I know some very successful people who don’t have resumes. Not everyone goes down that path. 💜

Yup! I had a resume once upon a time. Now that is irrelevant. Be your own boss 😁😁🍻

But if you're asking for a job you should probably have a piece of paper that shows some proof of work.

I just told dude if he's to lazy to do that I don't want him working here.

🤯 Agreed. Usually you need a resume when looking for a job. 😂

Agreed, resumes are important. Though, I would say that the main point of a resume is to pass the initial filtering process and get a face-to-face talk with the potential employer. That back and forth talk/probing is the real hiring procedure.

I will add that the resume is also useful for the interviewer when he/she plans questions ahead of the hiring interview.

Agreed.

So what? Not every job needs one. And they are lame.

Resume = proof of work

They can be lame. If you put some design into them you can make them more efficient and deliver your "proof of work" in a more pleasant and standout way.

There is an art to resumé design and it's good to take pride in such things when they are needed.

What's a resume? I'm 40. Probably should look into this. I don't want to be a loser.

Think of it as your proof of work 🤔

Makes sense. I've never applied for a job so I see it differently. Always just fell into things.

Most resumes are not POW.

They are as shitcoiny as it gets.

People fluff their shit. That part is shit coiny. Doesn't change the fact that I won't hire you if you can't show me some evidence that you're capable of doing work.

Yup. I get it. Depends on the job etc.

We're hiring for a job that is very easy. Just the same, I tell people to bring me a resume. If you're too lazy to do this very simple task then we don't want to trust you with our shop.

Makes complete sense.

Yes. It’s a good qualifier for sure.

References become key as people move along in their careers.

Vibes do too.

My strategy is the opposite:

I go brutally honest

My proof of work is more like a tall tall tale.

Maybe you could just put the last ten years of your life to the music of “Gilligans Island”.

Bring an instrument to the interview.

Then when your potential employer asks for your resume, you’re on!

🤣

Resume is what you do when you want to pick back up something that you temporarily stopped doing.

Ex:

I stopped shoveling snow so I could grab a coffee, now I need to resume my task

I have a hard time with that one also. Easily distracted.
